This Bhujodi Kala Cotton Saree is an elegant embodiment of minimalist luxury. It showcases the refined extra-weft weaving technique that has defined the Kutch textile landscape for generations. Crafted from eco-friendly Kala cotton, this saree offers a tactile experience that is as grounded as it is sophisticated.

This is a standout piece in the Rannscape Weaves collection. This saree artfully pairs a dusty rose-terracotta body with a magnificent mustard-ochre pallu, creating a visual narrative of the Kutch landscape at sunset. This saree is an ideal choice for high-impact professional meetings or cultural gatherings.

Fabric: 100% Organic Kala Cotton

Colour: Dusty Rose-Terracotta with Mustard/Ochre pallu and Plum accents.

Craft: Traditional Bhujodi Extra-Weft Handloom Weaving.

Length: Approximately 6.2 to 6.5 meters (including 1 meter of a matching unstitched blouse piece).

Width: Approx. 45 inches.

Weight: Approx. 830 grams.

The Body: Moving away from minimalist solids, this saree features a classic windowpane check pattern. The plum-coloured grid lines against the terracotta base provide a rhythmic, geometric appeal that feels both vintage and contemporary.

The Pallu (Decorative End): The transition to the mustard pallu is striking. It is densely packed with horizontal bands of extra-weft weaving, showcasing iconic Bhujodi Chaumukh, Dholki, Panchako and Dhungali motifs. The high-contrast black and white threads against the ochre background make the artisanal work pop.

The Border: A deep, regal plum border frames the entire length, providing a clean edge that anchors the lighter earth tones of the cotton.

Finish: Hand-knotted tassels in black, white, and magenta.

Feel: Breathable, durable and textured; it provides comfort in summers and moderate warmth in winters.

1. First Wash: Dry cleaning is highly recommended for the first wash to set the colours and preserve the intricate weft work.

2. Subsequent Washes: If hand-washing at home, use cold water and a very mild liquid detergent (or baby shampoo).

3. Process: Do not soak the saree for more than 5 minutes. Gently swirl it in the water; do not bleach or scrub, wring or twist the fabric, as this can damage the hand-woven motifs.

4. Drying: Always dry in the shade and away from direct sunlight to prevent the colours from fading. It is best to hang it on a padded hanger or lay it flat on a clean surface.

5. Ironing: Use a medium-heat setting. It is safer to iron on the reverse side of the saree to protect the raised weaving patterns.

6. Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Avoid using plastic covers; instead wrap the saree in a breathable muslin or cotton cloth bag given along with the product. Avoid hanging for long periods; folding helps maintain the shape of the handloom weave.

7. Tassel Care: Gently comb the tassels with your fingers after washing to keep them from tangling.
