This is an authentic Kala Cotton Saree, handwoven by the master weavers of the Vankar community of a village named Bhujodi in the district of Kutch, Gujarat, India. The saree is distinguished by its warm Mustard Yellow base and intricate extra-weft weaving. This technique involves manually inserting contrasting treads during the weaving process to create the raised geometric patterns representing a 500-year-old tradition of hand weaving.

The fabric is made from Kala Cotton, a resillient, Carbon-neutral, indigenous organic cotton variety native to the arid region of Kutch. It is known for its earthy, slightly coarse texture that softens beautifully with every wash.

Fabric: 100% Organic Kala Cotton

Colour: Mustard Yellow with Red, Navy Blue and White accents

Craft: Traditional Bhujodi Extra-Weft Handloom Weaving.

Length: Approximately 6.2 to 6.5 meters (including 1 meter of a matching unstitched blouse piece).

Width: Approx. 45 inches.

Weight: Approx. 830 grams.

The Body: Turmeric Kala cotton featuring a minimalist hand-embroidered Chaumukh motifs in royal blue, white and red distributed subtly across the saree body.

The Pallu (Decorative End): A show-stopping feature comprising dense multi-color horizontal striped bands in blue, white and red woven in precise proportions creating exceptional visual richness and layered complexity. The pallu is adorned with hand-embroidered Chaumukh and Dholki motifs creating a large floral shape and scattered Chaumukh and Dhungali motifs in blue, white and red tones sparsely distributed throughout, enhancing traditional artisanal craftsmanship.

The Border: A continuous woven border running the saree's full length in white providing refined visual continuity, elegant definition, and cohesive design flow throughout.

Finish: The pallu concludes with intricately knotted tassels in alternating white, blue and red provides artisanal texture, dynamic movement, festive charm and traditional handwoven character.

Feel: Breathable, durable and textured; it provides comfort in summers and moderate warmth in winters.

To ensure the longevity of the natural fibers and the hues:

1. First Wash: Dry cleaning is highly recommended for the first wash to set the colours and preserve the intricate weft work.

2. Subsequent Washes: If hand-washing at home, use cold water and a very mild liquid detergent (or baby shampoo).

3. Process: Do not soak the saree for more than 5 minutes. Gently swirl it in the water; do not bleach or scrub, wring or twist the fabric, as this can damage the hand-woven motifs.

4. Drying: Always dry in the shade and away from direct sunlight to prevent the colours from fading. It is best to hang it on a padded hanger or lay it flat on a clean surface.

5. Ironing: Use a medium-heat setting. It is safer to iron on the reverse side of the saree to protect the raised weaving patterns.

6. Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Avoid using plastic covers; instead wrap the saree in a breathable muslin or cotton cloth bag given along with the product. Avoid hanging for long periods; folding helps maintain the shape of the handloom weave.

7. Tassel Care: Gently comb the tassels with your fingers after washing to keep them from tangling.
